🚓 Speed Survey - MORDA 🚔 Following concerns raised by local residents and our Parish Councils regarding speeding through Morda, Oswestry Rural South SNT carried out a speed monitoring exercise in the village. During the 30-minute survey, 60 vehicles were monitored on a road subject to a 30 mph speed limit. 📊 Results: While the majority of motorists were travelling within the speed limit, we will continue to carry out speed monitoring across our rural communities in response to concerns raised by residents and Parish Councils. Our villages are home to families, pedestrians, cyclists and other road users. Speed limits are there to help keep everyone safe. ⚠️ Those caught speeding are liable to enforcement action and prosecution.
DON’T SPEED. Keep our villages safe for everyone, or expect a ticket and points! 🚔

Rural Patrols and Farm Visits Oswestry Rural South officers have been out on patrol across the area as part of our daily commitment to high‑visibility policing within our rural communities. As part of this work, we have been visiting farms throughout the patch, speaking with farmers, listening to their concerns, and offering practical crime‑prevention advice. These visits are an important way for us to build strong relationships with the people at the heart of our rural communities. We want to understand the challenges you face, offer support where we can, and work together to keep our countryside safe. We will continue these visits over the coming weeks. If we haven’t reached your farm yet, please get in touch — we want to visit every farm on our patch and ensure everyone has the opportunity to speak with us. Your local knowledge is invaluable, and your engagement helps us tackle rural crime more effectively.
Anti-Social Driving – Further Action Taken Your local Safer Neighbourhood Team has continued to take action following reports and concerns regarding anti-social driving in and around Oswestry. As part of our ongoing work, eight Anti-Social Behaviour warning letters have been issued to drivers, along with an additional Section 59 warning to a driver whose vehicle was captured on police footage being driven in an anti-social manner. We would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to report incidents and provide information to us. Reports from members of the public, particularly where CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage is available, can provide valuable evidence and help us identify those responsible. We know that anti-social driving continues to be a concern within our communities, and our work does not stop with these warnings. Further enforcement activity and longer-term preventative measures are being planned as we continue to tackle the issue. If you witness anti-social driving or have footage that may assist us, please contact the team at oswestryc.snt@westmercia.police.uk. By continuing to work together, we can tackle anti-social driving and help keep our roads and communities safer for everyone.
🚗 West Felton Parking – Please Help Us Make Our Streets Safer As we move into October, parking around West Felton, particularly during school drop-off and collection times, continues to be a significant concern. We are regularly seeing vehicles parked inconsiderately, blocking pavements and driveways, and parking in locations that reduce visibility for children and other pedestrians. With the mornings and evenings becoming darker as we head further into autumn, now is an important time for all of us to think about road and pedestrian safety. Your local Safer Neighbourhood Team will continue to patrol the area and work with the school, residents and our partners to address the problems being reported. But we also need your help.
Please help us make the streets of West Felton safer. Park considerately, keep pavements and driveways clear, respect parking restrictions and, if necessary, park a little further away and walk. A few extra minutes of your time can make a real difference to the safety of children, residents and other road users. Please park safely, park considerately and help us keep West Felton safe for everyone.
🚓 RTC - MORDA 🚔 Response and Safer Neighbourhood Team officers attended a road traffic collision on Weston Road, Morda, this morning. Following a short foot pursuit, a male was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs. A search of the surrounding area resulted in controlled drugs being located and seized, and the vehicle involved was also seized. This incident is another example of our zero-tolerance approach to drug driving and the use and supply of controlled drugs in our communities. Drug driving puts lives at risk and will not be tolerated. If you have any information about drug-related activity or drug driving in your area, please report it to your local Safer Neighbourhood Team or via Crimestoppers. Your information can help keep our communities safe.
